- Summer - Augustus Drusus
dies in his bed in Tribus Chatii, leaving his army under the command of Gaius
Florus. Gaius Florus approached the town of Damme facing a rebel army in the
north and 3 Briton armies, the largest being garrisoned in the town of Damme.
He ordered a detachment to attack the rebel army flanking him on his left. The
detachment led by Captain Amulius defeated the rebel army and returned to
cover Gaius Florus left flank and rear, while Gaius directly faced the town
heavily defended by the Britons. In the following days, Gaius became too
anxious for a fight and headed his army south of the town to confront one of
the smaller size Briton forces not knowing he was being lured into a trap. Gaius' army were flanked from the rear by the larger force of Britons that
came from the town. The Britons had superiority in numbers. Also Gaius unwisel
chose a day when it was raining and nullified any advantage he had
with his archers. He was also on a slope and the flanking Britons from the
rear had the higher elevation. The result was a devastating lost of the Romans. The
survivors escaped to the east. Meanwhile, the small detachment led by Captain Amulius was still northwest of the town, now overwhelmingly outmatched by the
Briton army south of the town. Gnaeus Annius dies in Osca. Birth of
Papiria and Eutropia.
- Winter - Birth of
Messalina and Honoria. Riots in Corduba. Captain Amulius' detachment
heading east
towards Roman territory of Vicus Gothi were ambushed by Britons.

Not until the defeat of Gaius Florus when he underestimated
the Britons, battles between the Romans and the Britons have been one-sided
because
of the numerically superior and better trained Romans and the advantage
of the use of cavalry.

Summer 176BC - Captain Amulius led a detachment of Gaius
Florus' legion and defeated a rebel army flanking them on the north outside the
town
of Damme.

- Summer - Decimus Octavius sieged Damme after gathering troops from
Mogontiacum and Batavodurum. Coming from the east, Caius Julius gathered
troops on his way to Damme rendezvousing troops from Vicus Gothi and Lovosice
and even from Patavium. Caius avoided rebel troops on his way since his
priority was to get to Damme and capture it. But Decimus Octavius, being a
governor of Mogontiacum was nearer and was able to get there first.
The plague in Mediolanium killed 1800 civilians and 400 soldiers.

- Summer - Birth of Herrenius Varro Jr. (son of Herennius Varro Sr. and
Crispina). Caius Julius camped his army southeast of Damme. Mount
Vesuvius erupted. The plague in Mediolanium subsided. Decimus Octavius
attacked the town of Damme and enslaved the people. He avenged the defeat of Gaius Florus 5yrs earlier.
- Winter - Galerius Burrus (The Harsh) dies in bed in Ariminum. Violentilla
the wife of Augustus Drusus died. Birth of Spurius Pennus (son of Kaeso Pennus the Cunning). Caius Julius the Might
marries Fulvia (19yrs old). Caius was 41yrs old.

Summer 171BC - Decimus Octavius avenged the defeat of Gaius
Florus 5 yrs earlier by taking Damme with minimal losses against large force
of Briton defenders.

Summer 171BC - The Romans under the command of Decimus Octavius, surrounded the
last defenders of Damme and annihilated them with the last charge.

Samarobriva. The Romans in the province were then enslaved by the Britons.

Summer 169BC - Titus Velius conquers Tingi after the Scipii
abandoned it a few years earlier. Here they celebrate taking the city's central
square.

Summer 169BC - More than 2,000 attacking Britons rushed
through the walls of Samorobriva. The Roman Captain in charge with only a handful of
men chose to
defend a
pass and make it a chokepoint against the attackers.

Summer 169BC - Samarobriva, the Romans and their hired
mercenaries defended the pass bravely.

Summer 169BC - Samarobriva, the sheer weight and manpower of
the Britons with their charging chariots finally overwhelm the defenders and once the
town was taken, all
Romans in the province of Belgica were enslaved.

on Thrace.
- Winter - Birth of Plotina. Decimus Octavius retakes Samorobriva from the
Britons although outnumbered by the defenders.

Winter 168BC - The Legion of Decimus Octavius prepares to assault Samorobriva
after losing the town a year earlier.

Winter 168BC - Samarobriva, the Romans charged in the opened
gate which was sabotaged by a Roman spy. The Roman Legionaires held off the
flanking
Britons from both sides so more men can come in through the gate.

Winter 168BC - Samarobriva, the hardest fighting took place on
the right flank of the Romans as several hundred Britons charged the right flank
causing Decimus Octavius to come close enough and rally his men.

Winter 168BC - Samarobriva, the right flank of the Romans was
in danger of collapsing and hired mercenaries were sent in to strengthen the
line. The
Britons were pushing the attackers back towards the gate.

Winter 168BC - Samarobriva, because of one Centurian's
iniative to react to the dire situation, he led his men around to flank the
Britons in the rear.
Once the Britons saw the Romans coming from the back, panic set in and the
Briton's push of the Romans near the gate failed.

Winter 168BC - Samarobriva, the fight was far from over. After
the trapped Britons were annihilated, the same flanking Romans that came
from the rear
continued their advance towards the town center but met charging chariots on the
way.

gate and advanced to the town center were more Britons were waiting to
defend the town. Here you see hundreds lay dead, the fierce and bloody fighting
that almost pushed the Romans back out of the gate.

- Summer - Caius Julius and Herennius Varro landed their legions in
Britannia. Caius headed north to take the town of Eburacum while Varro
who landed earlier took the settlement of Londinium. Death of Leontia
(wife of the great Servius Gessius). Death of Tertius Lappius, the Conqueror
and Governor of Palma. After Caius Julius took Eburacum, he headed west
and took Deva, ending the war against the Britons. The Britons were now under
Roman rule.

Summer 166BC - Herennius Varro's Legion prepares to take
Londinium. The defenders had reinforcements but were too small to make a
difference and
the Romans now have a foot hold in the British isles.

Summer 166BC - Back in the province of Belgica, Octavius
hunted down the last remnants of a Briton army roaming west of the town of
Samarobriva. A few
of the Britons escaped death and took off with their ships and was never seen
again.

Summer 159BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. A hastily
assembled roman army led by Captain Herius from the towns of Trier, Betavodurum,
Alesia and Samarobriva marched towards Mogontiacum and engaged the Rebel Army of Heriman and Alaric. Herius lost his life while trying to protect the left
flank.

Summer 159BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. Captain Herius who
led his mercenary cavalry collided head on at the rebel cavalry with such force
that
horses toppled and men flew in every direction. Flaming arrows from the Roman
Archers soared pass them hitting the enemy and some of Herius' horsemen.

Summer 159BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. After Herius
death, his soldiers continued fighting and were victorious.

- Summer - Vicus Gothi's situation worsened and the rebels took over the settlement.
Marriaged of Augustus Turranius and Baebiana. Tertius Gessius
becomes Pontifex Maximus and Caius an Aedile. Coning of age of Secundus Velius,
Vibius Octavius. Death of Magia, wife of Numerius Poppaeus. Aulus Varus, gets
his first taste of battle by defeating a rebel army on his way to Mogontiacum.
- Winter - Mogontiacum revolted, killing 95 civilians. Decimus Octavius
confronts the rebels controlling the town of Damme. He faces the rebel leader
Athanaric, Adalgard and Eutlinde. The Rebels lost the battle and retreated.
Damme was retaken by the Romans without struggle. Captain Decimus attacked the
rebels controlling Vicus Gothi under Eraric and Gunderic.

Summer 159BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. Young Aulus Varus
leaving the company of his fellow Generals whom he travelled with from Narbo
Martius,
led an assembled army of Trier and Alesia and defeated a rebel army blocking the
passage way towards Mogontiacum from Trier.

Winter 158BC - Damme, Tribus Chatii. Decimus Octavius fought a combined rebel
army of Athanaric, Adalgard and Eutlinde. Flaming arrows was the
order of the day.

themselves from the charge of the rebel warriors.

- Summer - Herius Tubertus married Honoria, daughter of ..... Birth of
Vistilia, daughter of Spurius Avidus (Governor of Patavium) and Fannia.
Flavius the Cunning (husband of Ancharia) and 4 other Generals (Aulus Varus,
Asinius Maecenas, Oppius Pennus and Decius Burrus retook Mogontiacum. Decimus
Octavius, also known as Decimus Victor on his way east headed back north of
Damme to confront another rebel army led by Tancred. The capital
of the House of Julii moved from Narbo Martius to Lugdunum.

his young generals Generals, Aulus Varus,
Asinius Maecenas, Oppius Pennus and
Decius Burrus retook beautiful Mogontiacum from the rebels.

Summer 157BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. The Romans poured in through the
gates and downed walls and met the defenders head on.

Summer 157BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. The rebel defenders retreated to the
city center. The Romans marched through the streets of Mogontiacum.

Summer 157BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. The Romans charged to the heavily
defended city center. The general's bodyguards charged in for support
and finally overwhelmed the rebels and killed them to the last man.

Summer 157BC - Mogontiacum, Agri Decumates. The Romans
celebrate their victory by taking Mogontiacum back for Rome.

Summer 157BC - Damme, Tribus Chatii, Decimus Octavius while
heading east was informed that another rebel army was approaching Damme from the
north. He turned back his legion and intercepted the rebels. The ensuing battle
was a route but the rebel leader, Tancred escaped.

revolt, killing 2541 civilians and the city taken by the rebels, affecting
financially the Julii territories. Luca Laeca married Eutropia, daughter of
Tertius Gessius, the governor of Narbonensis.
- Winter - Asturica revolt, killing 465 civilians and took the town.
Spurius Papinianus married Papiria, daughter of Gaius Florus and Antistia.
Death of Sempronia, wife of Lucius Vellius. Oppius Pennus married
Papilia. Death of Tiberius Maecenas by natural causes in Betavodurum.

Death of Decimus Octavius Victor by natural causes in Vicus Gothi. Coming of
age of Herennius Varro, Spurius Pennus and Cnaeus Poppaeus. Titus Vellius took
back Corduba coming from Tingi. A hard fought battle but the Romans fight
street by street. Captain Lentulus retook the town of Asturica.
- Winter - Osca riots killing 768 civilians and killing 13 soldiers.
Corduba recently retaken by the Romans rioted killing 2422 civilians and 110
soldiers. Asturica recently retaken by Captain Lentulus revolted again. This
time Capt. Lentulus loses his life after being ambushed inside the market
square. The revolt resulted in 201 civilians dead. Roman command was handed to
Capt. Cnaeus who ordered his men out of the town and the rebels controlled it.
Titus Maelius married Licinia, daughter of late Tertius Lappius. Secundus
Vellius, son of Titus Vellius married Atia. The Julii capital that was
Lugdunum was moved back to Narbo Martius again to help combat the revolts and
riots in Hispania and surrounding regions.

towards the walls of Corduba to retake the city from the rebels that controlled
it.

Summer 155BC - The Romans assualted the walls with ladders,
Corduba, Baetica.

- Summer - Revolt in Londinium of Britannia Superior causing the garrison to
leave the town and the rebels taking it, 651 civilians were killed. Tertius
Gessius voted as Consul by the Senate. Spurius Pennus new governor of Lugdunum
married Matidia. Marcus Lappius and Decimus Drusus came of age (16yrs.).
Herennius the Mad (Varro) led his garrison against Lugotorix and Cacumattus.
The Romans having superiority in cavalry, chased away the chariots and flanked Lugotorix from both sides and killed him. Lugotorix's infantry ran to
try to rescue
him but the Romans line charged and surrounded the Britons in between and
annihilated them. Herennius marched back to Londinium and massacred those he
saw were participants of the revolt.

Vipsania.

Herennius Varro's calvary flanked Lugotorix on both sides and killed him after
chasing off the
Briton's chariots.

cavalry.

- Summer - Due to the threat of Julii leader Caius the Profane (Caius
Julius) who fortified his legion north of Rome and their jealousy of his fame by the people, the Senate conspired by ordering him to commit
suicide claiming it was for the good of Rome. Caius refused and the
Senate outlawed the Julii and declared war against them. The alliance of
Scipii and Brutii were now torn to shreds and the Julii declared an enemy.
Hence, a Civil War broke out. The popularity of Caius Julius was unmatched and
the people of Rome would welcome him as their Ruler if he would march towards
Rome and take the power from the Senators. Plague in Patavium killed
3000 civialians and 100 soldiers. Luca Vibius governor of Arretium married
Placidia, daughter of Flavius Regulus. Birth of Pulcheria, daughter of Oppius
Opimius and Vivia, daughter of Titus Vellius of Tingi. A Julli force led
by Commander Spurius stationed in Sardinia sieged Caralis which was controlled
by the Scipii.
- Winter - Ariminum, Umbria, General Luca Vibius confronted a Brutii army
led by Commander Manius southeast of Ariminum. The Brutii positioned
themselves on a hill and the Julii marched up to engage them. Commander Manius of the
Brutii rode to the left flank of Luca Vibius. Vibius ordered both his calvary
on his right and left to pursue Manius. Manius was surrounded and killed
in the ensuing fight. After the Brutii calvary was wiped out, the Julii
cavalry attacked the Brutii line while the Vibius ordered his legionaires to
rush up the hill and attack. The result was a complete route of the Brutii.
Marcus Figulus, governor of Ariminum participated in the battle commanding his
own guards and chasing down the enemy soldiers.

152 Summer - At the start of the Roman Civil War the
territories of the Julii spanned from the British Isles, to Tribus Saxons
(Denmark),
the land of the Marconmanii sharing the borders of Scythia south to the borders
of Pannonnia and Illyria with the Brutii. In the south they
shared borders with the Scipii in Northern Africa
According to historian Scrotumus Maximus (translated from
Latin):
The situation of the Julii during the commencement of the Civil War was of
deep financial problem. The revolts in Hispania (Corduba, Asturica, Osca)
and the Revolts in Germania Inferior, the rebellion of Agri Decumates (Mogontiacum), Tribus
Chatii and revolts in Britannia caused near financial ruin. The
war declared by the Senate and Scipii in 152BC was a bit untimely although the
door has now opened for Caius Julius plan to take Rome which he had dreamed and
prepared for several years.
Tensions between the Senate and Caius Julius have been getting worse and the fortification of southern Etruria which bordered Rome unsettled
the Senators that someday Caius Julius march towards Rome is imminent. Caius was
a favorite of the pleabs and the people loved him. Although Caius welcomed the
war, financially he was not prepared for it.

Commander Spurius defeats Scipii Commander Augustus in Sardinia, north of
Caralis. Valerius Mus married Lucillia, daughter of Tertius Gessius. Gnaeus
Annius wife Fabia dies. Caius Julius attacked and took over a fort of the
Senate army, then a few weeks later approached Rome and engaged a combined
Scipii and Senate army east of Rome.
- Winter - Caius Julius assassinated in Rome. An assassin came in his
sleeping quarters and killed him while he was asleep. Quintis Varus who
was governor in Alesia became the leader of the House of Julii.

Commander Augustus of the Scipii who sallied forth out of Caralis to engage.

Summer 151BC - Caius Julius took over a Senate Fort north
east of Rome.

Summer 151BC - A detachment of the Senate's army is massacred
by Lucas Vibius north of Rome.

Summer 151BC - Caius Julius confronts a combined army of the
Senate and Scipii east of Rome. The defeat of the Senate Army led by
Servius and Herius
Lepis left Rome open and Caius marched in the city uncontested.

Summer 151BC - Both cavalries clashed in the fields northwest
of Rome while the main force of the Julii stood their ground waiting for the
outcome.

Summer 151BC - The Senate cavalry made a frontal charge
but could not dent the Julii line and was forced to retreat. With the defeat of
the Senate
force, Caius Julius marched into Rome triumphantly and well received by the people.
